The SBDC is made up of four main divisions
which comprise of a small unit of specialised staff who provide
necessary support to the network of Small Enteprise Development
(SED) organisations in the country.
This will be through:
- Business Development Services Division;
- Start and Improve Your Business Programme Division;
- Small Industries Centre; and
- Corporate Services Division
Business Development Services Division
The BDS division, as the name states, is the main division
within the corporation tasked with the responsibility for the
development and promotion of the Small and Medium
Enterprise sector through provision of a range
of products, initiatives and activities.
A full complement of BDS involves training,
credit/finance and extension services.

As Papua New Guinea celebrates 30 years of
Independence, the Small Business Development Corporation's flagship
Start & Improve Your Business (SIYB) Programme is proud
to have made a contribution to the development of the country.
The SBDC is the Government's lead agency in
the promotion of the Government's Small and Medium Enterprises
policy.

Small Industries Centre
The Small Industries Centre, which comes under
the Small Business Development Corporation, is in the forefront
of promoting the Government's policy on Small Micro and Medium
Enterprises (SMMEs) in Papua New Guinea.
It is mandated to promote technologies "appropriate"
for self-help project initiatives at the village level.

Corporate Services
The Division looks after financial (treasury),
accounts, human resource, Board/Corporate Secretariat, legal,
administration, and information technology requirements of the
Small Business Development Corporation.
It ensures the Corporation's financial requirements
are adequate/sufficient so as to meet its debts and obligations
as and when they fall due.
